The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) took a decision to discontinue the mandate given to NAAC and instead work with the Quality Council of India(QCI), an autonomous agency under the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Government of India. Over the last 3 months, NCTE has been working with QCI to design and operationalise a new accreditation and ranking framework. According to this new regulation a Teacher Education institution recognized by NCTE is now required to obtain Accreditation from this agency once every five years. The Chairperson of the QCI is nominated by the Prime Minister of India. Our institution is also preparing for this process.
